Woolgatherers - a new build eco-home in Stroud

Project: a new eco-friendly home
Location: Near Stroud

This family home was developed according to strict sustainable design principles. It was built using eco-friendly materials and methods of construction and incorporates a range of green technologies.

It is orientated so as to harness the sun both passively through large glazing, and actively with a whole roof covered in solar panels (both hot water and photovoltaic). It was constructed using sustainable and breathable materials (such as hemp and lime walls) as well as durable recyclable materials. It is heated by a ground source heat pump and a log burning stove.

Despite its distinctive architectural design, it sits discreetly in its surroundings, nestling back into the hillside and enjoying glorious views across the valley.
